Sirius Satellite Radio-No pause feature!!

:banghead:What a disappointment!. Even the $79 Sirius Replay Radio has a 44 minute buffer memory/pause/rewind feature..for $595, BMW should have required Sirius's to include this GREAT feature. Any opinions?

I think we need to cut BMW some slack on this....after all, they were still putting cassette players in the E53 as recently as 2006. The fact that Sirius is available at all, is pretty amazing, given their previous electronics expertise.

Not all sat receivers have this option. Are there any EOM auto receiver with this option?

Here is something to concider.... The sat receivers with this option are the portable type that stay plugged in so they are on even with the ignition being off. The user is in control and knowlingly decides to drain the battery if he wants.

To use the pause feature.... You could only really use it while you are in the car and everything was on. This would be nice... Pause the sat radio when you get a phone call... But other than that... why would you need to in your car.

If you are going to be getting out.... how long does your car keep the radio on and store the stream? The radio does have a feature to stay on and shut off after a while. But not normally... someone is there to listen.

Great feature when your listening to sports, news or talk show..or for that matter just music.. while stepping into the gas station for a quick store purchase etc...Once your back you can pick up where you left-off and fast foward through any commercials and catch up to real time--Yes, Sirius has commrcials on it's talk channels..Stern, Cramer etc. I use it all the time with on my Starmate Replay Unit in my F150. Just like TiVo, you don't miss it 'til you had it.

A timer feature could be programmed into the software to allow adjustment of radio stay on time after ignition is off.
