 You must be seeing stuff....I see black fuzz....and the owners book (online) shows nothing there....(page 12 I think http://www.xoutpost.com/x5-e70-forum/...anual-pdf.html)

its not in this picture im just trying to point out where it is. and its not in the manual. next time when you turn on the car. look really close at it. and you will see there is a sign at where im pointing. but yes.. its not documented anywhere, what does it do??

trueX5er 02-27-2007 10:41 PM

hmm...I'll look next time....
Auto Hill desc...

Auto Hold.....

Auto ....?

Can't see it in pic. I dunno, find a way to test all dash lights. I know the E70 is new, but eventually someone will find a way. I wouldn't be surprised if the owner's manual leaves things out because each area of the world gets a diff manual. It may be a function not available in the US, but they have the dash light for it anyway.

For example, all X3s have a rear foglight dash light, but NA-spec X3s dont have the rear foglight capability. Not mentioned in owner's manual, but the light is there.

Maybe it's for the auto high beam function that's avail overseas but not in NA?

No, I believe that's symbolized with a blue high-beam symbol with "A" on the corner. (Kinda like how our auto headlight switch position is)

if it's lit up right when you turn the car on, it must be that the car is "checking" it, so it probably is an active feature....but I :dunno:

jcreed 02-27-2007 11:49 PM

the light doesnt light up when you turn the car on. but you can see its there because the light from the park light reveal the little auto h a little bit...

trueX5er 02-27-2007 11:50 PM

oh ok gotcha....maybe there is something after the 'h" but you can't see it...maybe shining a flashlight on it....?
