Although I am going back tomorrow to complete 3M bra installation, my NAV DVD didnt do anything in the car and was not recognised???
Its version 2007.1
It doesnt load it or respond to it at all.....
Anyway going back tomorrow to have it resolved.....I suspect a faulty disc.

BMW doesn't handle it. Once you get your disk with your new vehicle, they are done. New updates can be ordered through http://navteq.com and they come out once or twice a year, on average.

Latest is 2007.2

great, brand new car and I already have outdated disk.

In Canada you get a new disk on the aniversary date of delivery for 2 years.

Just a note of caution about those CD and Nav DVD players and their close proximity to each other. Somebody (I won't say who) inadvertently tried to load a CD into the DVD slot (with the nav DVD already in place). Well, it loaded the CD easily enough but ejecting it was another story! The dealer managed to remove both the DVD and CD discs from the player (thankfully, who knows what a new Nav DVD player would run?!).

Of course there was damage to the disc, not the $10 AC/DC mind you, but the $200 Nav DVD! Took about a week to receive a new one through the dealership.

After that incident, I was about ready to find a high tech solution to prevent that from happening again, maybe a length of electrical tape blocking the slot! (ha)
