SW Update

There have been a few threads from people getting software updates to solve various problems and was wondering what the changes were and if the update solved the problems. I believe the latest software version is V25.

I'd also be curious to know if those of us with E70's on order should expect our cars to have the latest software updates (within reason, allowing for transit time and whatever production is done after software installation) or if BMW loads only a certain level and does not apply the updates at the factory. Does anyone know the answer to that?

I would hope they load the most current updates before shipping the car, or at least at the dealer before delivering the car (which seems like a fair request/demand at the dealer, if it's not done at the factory..).

I called the 800 number and was told that yes the factory uses the latest SW version and that dealers get the updates after the factory. We'll see.

I am very interested in this question as to when the software updates are phased into new cars.

My X5 was assembled last Thursday according to the 800 number. As soon as it arrives I will try to remember to post the version that was installed in my vehicle.

unfortunatley, there is no way to tell which version # you have other than lack/addition of features.

Amazing...I have to remember that on my next software project...hide the version number from the customer.

Between the arrow issue and the change in the graphics on the home screen I should be able to figure out what version I have. (I just wish I could find out where my car is...the web says it is in the prep center, the 800 number says awaiting transport to port of exit).

It is amazing that you can not tell what SW version your car has. I can't imagine not knowing what sw version I have on my home computer. I have an Audi A8 and it's very easy to call it up on the MMI system. Is there someone that has had the SW updated on their 07 X5 that can tell us what the changes were and what problems it fixed.

I get my car back tomorrow hopefully with the updated software
Will let you all know what I notice different.

Also, the VPC center will update the software of the cars, if there is a version change during shipment...

That's great, thanks.
