$4000 for aero kit?
 

I was qouted 4k for an aero kid to be completed installed including painting etc. It seems a bit too much. A lot of people are getting qoutes for no more than 2k. What should I do?

4k does seem like a lot for the small pieces that exist on the e70 aero kit...

i would purchase them online thru a bmw parts wholesaler and have a local quality body shop paint them & install them.

in dubai it costs around $2500 painted and installed.. $4000 is absurd for the aerodynamicss :S
in dubai the aerokits with the rims costs around $11,000 -is it worth it or not?

in sharjjah you can get it alot cheaper , i know they are the same dealer ... but i think it depends on who you talk to ..

I went ahead and asked my dealer to install the aero kit. He said that they are on backorder and there are 0 in Germany. Im thinking about paying now, waiting, and loaning a car when the parts come in.

too late, i already paid a deposit for the aero kit with 21 rims, =/ lool
i hope it arrives when my car does, so that they would install it immediatly :P

Im getting my X5 delivered on Thursday...might be some of the longest days this year! I will post pictures when it arrives.

topgear66, how do you know that you will have the car delivered on Thursday? Is is already in Oxnard? Mine is supposed to be in Oxnard on Thursday with delivery happening some time next week. Just curious if it is already at your dealer or if it is at the VPC.

It is not in Oxnard it's in Calabases at Bob Smith BMW. It is all ready to go just need to finalize trade in price and lease options. They origanally calculated it as a 2006 when it is a 2005.

BMW dealers are expensive - you all know that. I was quoted something like $4k for the rear view camera.

$825 US for the kit from Morristown BMW. $248 for paint from my local body shop. 1 1/2 hours on a saturday afternoon installing it myself.

The install instructions are readily available, and there are threads to look at (DaRipper's weekend mod thread for example).

Go for it, best looking kit in the market PERIOD. Nicest looking kit than any other tuner out there for a fraction of the cost. I have installed it myself, no adhesive needed. It only takes 2-3hours. I live in 08330, if you are local I can help out.

Hey you beat the $3600 quote I got from a big reputable dealer here. :D Ultimately I did it for $2300, and that's still considered a lot. If there were more DIY threads and samples at the time I bought I would've definitely tried it myself.
