Any UK launch owners seen their car yet?
 

I was expecting my E70 to be delivered to my dealer earlier this week but it failed to materialise (although unable to pick it up until 28th). My car has been sitting in the distribution centre in Thorne for 3 weeks now.

Same here, mine was expected at the dealers this week or worse early next. I've been told by my sales lady today that, even though they will have it before launch, I can't take delivery until "after the official launch" on the 30th April or 1st May.
I did ask if it wasn't at least possible to pick it up on the launch day, which got a negative response, seems a OTT to me.
Did the dealer tell you it was at Thorne?

Yes. They don't have "a consignment number" yet, whatever that is. Apparantly they can't start the ball rolling with the DVLA for a cherished number transfer until they get that.

I'm fairly firm in my view that if I don't get it on launch day, I'm walking away.

Sorry to hear fellows. Isn't launch day April 21? Spoke to my dealer yesterday they have yet to see their first delivery from BMW and nobody in the sales force has ever seen a car in the flesh...I am surprised we haven't seen UK test drives either yet in the press. I was offered a launch car but declined to get USB 6FL and DAB. My delivery is June but I still can change specs...

My dealer hasn't had a delivery yet, but has had a couple of guys away driving the E70 (suspect that was in germany) - he said he was expecting deliveries for the 28th still. Mine is on the boat.

Speaking to my sales lady last night she had definitely had been with others test driving E70s, on a test track, in the UK, she was very impressed........but I didn't think she would say otherwise.
I'm confused about the launch date, my dealership has a "launch party" over the weekend of 28/29th April, but in earlier conversations the implication was that the official launch date was in the week before.
They still haven't sent out any invites!
Can anybody confirm the official launch day?
I'm worried that they might be holding deliveries back to have something to show at their launch party!!

I though the official launch was 28th. Apparently a whole stack of invites was printed for a big launch of the updated 5, 3-series convertible, 1-series update and the X5. But for some reason it was all stopped - something to do with the 1.

My dealer had a 1, 3 Convertible and new 5 event 10 days ago, guess they will do a X5 only at soem points but would expect demos to be very thin on the grounds in the early days...

Hi, this is my first post. My dealer has a launch event on Thursday 26th April. I was told that by the Head of Sales who I've known for a long time...no idea if they've sent out invitations yet.

Just received the invite for the launch event on Thu April 26 at my dealer so it seems that it is going to be teh same day across the dealer network.
