How do you cancel route guidance / navigation?
 

I could not find anything to cancel a route guidance that I had entered before. Everytime I get in the car, it finds the route again and I can't cancel it without entering a new address. The manual was no help either... thanks!!

By the way, on another occasion, the traffic feature had me detour out of the freeway for 5 miles of "traffic" coming up and the street I took was parrael to the freeway... but the freeway was moving at 80mph while I took the streets going 30mph and getting stuck behind red lights... that sucked.

From the map main screen push the idrive contoller to the left side menu. This has serveral icons choose the one with the arrow and small dot. Press the idrive knob. The icon should now show a slanted line through it(crossed out).

In the navi menu, uncheck the "dynamic route".

I was hoping to take advantage of the traffic system to detour around congested areas (all over here in L.A.) but unfortunately it detoured out of an open freeway.

or hit the VR button and say 'cancel guidance'
