Hi,

RM, you are lucky. My E70 diesel stayed at the dealer 4 weeks since the first day. After picking it up new and 30kms around overheating message on the idrive display, emergency modus, than disapeared and everything was normal. Went next day to the garaje and they kept the car after having ventilator/fan error and another story I don´t remember.

No spare parts available nowhere. Even borrowing the piece was impossible, the car in exhibition was petrol.

Only three weeks later I got a loaner (7series) after heavy complain.

Iam happy to have my car back but wonder why the ventilator does work so often. I´m not used to this noise from my former E53´s.

Best regards
Alex

I finally got my car back.
The SZL part came but the car continued to give some other errors.

Then the electrician (who is a very dedicated guy) feeling that it had to be something elese, started to follow all the cables to check if something was wrong and then he found the real problem.
At the factory when they screwed a bar, the screw went through a cable, making a ground connection. This was confusing the system.
They were not sure at the end if the SZL was ok or not.

I know this is an old post. However, i just got those same messages on my 07 X5. Total melt down. Anyone have the same issue? What was done to fix it?

It's not a total meltdown, relax! :D You get these error messages if you disconnected the battery or if the battery dies for what ever reason. These messages should go away once your battery is fully charged. If not, it's a simple reprogram at the dealer. Of course it will cost you an hour labour!

I was being sarcastic:stickpoke. My vehicle loves the dealer that's why I go there almost once a month. The battery is good no problem. I just got back last night from a 1000 mile trip, drove today with no problem till about 6:00 pm when I started the X, I then got all of the errors. I wish I could say it would be an hour labor, but my experience is whenever there is programming, it's an overnight thing at least.
