Comfort & Sport seats? Please help

Hi everyone i need some help to make my decision i have order my car with the sport package and now im thinking to get comfort seats can you please help if you have had the chance to experience the two

PeteM 05-26-2007 07:47 PM

You really have to go with Comfort seats, I tried both and they are miles apart!!

Meiac09 05-26-2007 09:10 PM

the M/C Seats are much more finely tunable... Fortunately, with the E70, the Comfort setup comes with all of the sport attachments... so IMHO, Comfort Seats :2thumbs: :2thumbs: :2thumbs:
good luck

Comfortable and they look awesome!

grover432 05-27-2007 10:24 AM

Are comfort seats currently available?

Meiac09 05-27-2007 12:24 PM

they're called multicontour now, and yes, they are. :)

X5FX 05-27-2007 10:23 PM

they have always been called Multi-Contour.

I know they feel awesome .. but look awesome against sport seats.??? .. must disagree on that one !!! LOL !

the only difference in appearance of the multi-contour seats and sport seats is the headrest.

The extra comfort adjustments are worth it, as is the cooling function of the active/ventilated seat option.

My understanding was the panels were different sizes and stitching?

Everyone I spoke to said they were the same, including pictures I saw of the two.. but I was never able to compare them in person side by side. But if you look at the pics, they look exactly the same with the exception of the headrest. If there are any differences, the active ventilated seats are just as sporty, but I'm pretty sure they're the same.

It's the headrest that spoils them IMHO.. and that's the part that is most obvious outside the car...particularly when the adjustable parts are not flat against the headrest... far too crinkly/ creased look for me !! I'll probably regret it when I sit in the Sports seats though !!! ;)

I'm sure you'll be happy with the sports seats. We wanted the comfort seats, but ended up with the sports seats. So far not dissappointed at all. They have proven extremely supportive and comfortable.

One dissapointing thing though is that the side bolsters are not electrically adjustable. I though this was a standard feature on all BMW sports seats.

In the UK brochure the seats are different, the panels and the stitching, the bolsters look more curved, as well, on the sports. Not just the perforation.

They also look different on the pics in the E70 pics thread.

Have they now changed? because of the comfort seat supply issue previously posted.

jamesboags 05-30-2007 03:14 AM

They are definitely quite different in the brochures and apparently are made by different manufacturers...

It's standard on the M models, certainly was on my E46 M3. None of the non M cars that I have owned that were equipped with sports seats have had electrically adjustable bolsters.

I do prefer the look of the regular headrest to the adjustable one, but the extra comfort of the rest of the adjustments (including side bolsters) made it worth living with that part, to me...
