That is a nice spec car. Seems like there are plenty of X5's around! The E70 is not going to be enjoying the residuals the E53 did.

It was my X or meant to be! But was not complete in the Spec.

That's potentially an expensive mistake. When I bought my M3 back in 2002 the dealer managed to order two identical cars! Mind there was a year long waiting list so it wasn't hard to shift.

That's a bit of a quick assumption there really Fredo. If you call 5 BMW dealers today you will be quoted a lead time of between 4 and 8 months-dependant on dealer/area etc.

There are some cancelled orders around, but I think it's far too early to start making comments about the residuals being softter than the previous model. In fact the previous was a very slow starter too and the range didn't really hit strong demand until 6-9 months after launch and then the popular 3.0d was subject to 9-12 month waiting lists and premiums.

Don't forget that so far BMW UK have done little or no marketing for the X5 so it's a case of word of mouth or just seeing cars around for the buying public (non enthusiast) to realise ther new X5 is out and as good as it is...

Fair point....hope you're right! If they do re-tune the 3.0d so it beats the 225g emissions test I think the X5 will be a fantastic long term proposition.

A bit off topic I know - but i bought my current X5 4.6 from Scotthall Hampshire - i loved their customer service.
