same problem here. works automatically about 40% of the time, but works all the time if you use the seat memory button. that said, you have to hold the seat memory button down until the wheel reaches the stored position.

Excellent....this is exactly my problem.
To summarize....If the X5 is asleep....it needs to wake up more completely before you press start. Workaround....push the unlock button earlier to allow the car to wake up completely before you press start. Or wait longer to press start. Fix...software fix expected by September. |
There are two versions of the software currently in dealers 27 and 27.1.
Other posts in the forum say 27.1 will not be at all dealers until next month. Can anyone confirm which version fixes the steering wheel problem and that it is fixed ? I have to bring my X5 in for the brake sensor recall....but I do not want to bring it in until I can get the version that fixes the steering problem. |
I drop my X5 off tomorrow to get the headlight washers fixed. I also have the steering wheel problem and am checking to see if it can also be done while at the shop. I'll post if I'm successful.

same problems...but if i wait for a while before starting the ignition, it worked well..however, if i insert the key and start the ignition right away, the steering wheel will not move...
