Problem with getting an e70

I am going to need a car fairly soon (definitely by August/September), alot of people are telling me to wait for 2008 models that you will get a better deal, etc. Now what should I do since I need a car soon?

X5FX 06-17-2007 09:04 PM

buy a 2007 model

mikeygaga0713 06-17-2007 09:07 PM

Is it possible to get an M Sport Kit or Aero Kit on a 2007 model? I like the way it looks with that.

If you have the MOO-LA you can get it anyway you like.

go for the 2007 u wudnt wait

I would go for the 07 and you can easily add the aero kit.
No one knows what the changes will be for 08 and who knows if there will be a cost adjustment. I would only wait if I was interested in a turbo six.
Then again I bought my 4.8 in April.

Just curious; These people who told you to wait for the 2008 models, what information did they use to convince you that you would get a better deal? :dunno: It just may be that they will cost a lot more in 2008.

This is a decision only you can make. You negotiate what you pay for vehicles regardless of the year so asking others what to do with the limited information you provided IMHO makes no sense.

Well I was interested in Leasing and not Purchasing and they said I would get better rates with 08's.

Quicksilver 06-18-2007 03:44 PM

Who said that???

in your first post you indicated you cant wait until 08's arrive, so what is the point of the question?

I don't believe anyone knows if the lease rates (money factor) will be better or worse. As always, the residuals will be better (higher) at the beginning of a model year and decline towards the end of the model year.

If you can wait until October, the advantages of getting an '08MY E70 are higher residual on lease and the potential that many of the '07 design and manufacturing bugs have been worked out.

The cons of waiting are potential price increase and waiting 3 more months to get your new X. However, the higher residual may offset the price increase resulting in the same lease payments.

to tell you the truth the determining factor for me is whether or not they will have the ipod problem resolved by then. Do you think the 08 models will come with any kind of interface or will we be in the same situation we are now with the,?

While I've read about many problems with E70, I don't recall any about the I-pod interface. I have read several post with positive feedback on the I-Pod/USB option.

I have the iPod interface and so far, works fine. It does sometimes just jump from the iPod to whatever source I was using prior to the iPod, but it sounds great and works great through the iDrive otherwise.

It seems like a lot of people on here still don't realize that the iPod interface using the iDrive actually exists.

^ Ok they then must be some kind of misunderstanding because when I did a search it seemed like people for still searching for some kind of ipod interface. So they have a current interface that is integrated into the screen and can be controlled via touchscreen? that is what I need (my friends lexus has it)

Quicksilver 06-18-2007 07:05 PM

Dream on.......   You were trying to buy a BMW correct?
