My first post and my first BMW..
 

Well, I came across this forum while surfing another BMW form.. this one should work well as I'm only interested in the X5, and the E70 specifically. It's my first BMW as I just couldn't bring myself to buy the Mercedes products this time around, even though I absolutely love my E320 CDI.. their SUV's were just not up to par with the car, nor BMW..

So anyway, 3 days ago I ordered an X5 4.8i with every option except ventilated contour seats (didn't like how they looked, and I wanted the Tobacco color), and I also didn't (yet) order the 20" wheel option although I'm all ears if you all think I should.

I've got a delivery date estimate of late July, so pictures will follow, but for now I'll just share my limited experience with the vehicle and purchase experience, and of course I'll ask a lot of questions to the guys with X5's already..


First and foremost, I was hoping that someone out there has my colors so I'll ask if anyone does, to please post pics of the inside and outside!

I ordered white with tobacco, and bamboo, with sports package (black headliner).. If you've got the same colors, please share so I can have something to drool over while I wait :popcorn:

FYI- I love my ventelated seats, and now that summer is here I could not do w/o them. The X5 AC does not do a great job of cooling when its above 90 and the ventelated seats make a huge difference.

Just somthing to consider since you are in Pheonix.

Was wondering if the AC is different in the E70 vs the E53?? I have had 2 E53's and the AC has been great!!

I dont own the E53, so cant say...the AC is nice, except when its hot :rolleyes:.

I would but I really don't want the tan or the black leather, and that's my only choice for those seats. I wish we had the same choices as the rest of the world.. I have no idea what the US market did to BMW to limit us to only 3 colors.

Congrats! The E70 is a big vehicle and looks better with big wheels IMO.
Go for the 20's, they shouldn't be a problem with the nicely paved roads in Arizona.

I'll see tomorrow if it's not to late to change them out.. I'm thinking the same too. I want to see a side by side comparison of the two, but there are none at the dealer.
