why do you think Apple would WANT to restrict the distribution of music on THEIR devices...seriously, you think the record companies have noting to do with this? They have everything to do with this. Apple is being forced to require DRM to have the right to sell the music.

I think this will all change soon though as we all know this only penalizes the legitimate users of the music (thosre of us that pay for our music)...theft will continue regardless of the copy protection schemes employed,

BTW- back on topic-

My iPhone sounds like crap via bluetooth on the X5. The volume is very low and I can barley hear the caller. My previous WM6 device worked much better.

I've read some reports on other sites that iPhone users have improved reception problems when connecting iPhones via Bluetooth to their BMW's by turning off the Wi-fi on the iPhone while in the BMW. Apparently, there can be some interference between the RF signal the iPhone is sending out looking for a Wi-fi network and the Bluetooth RF signal.

I haven't tried this with mine as I haven't noticed any problems yet, but I haven't made that many calls from within the BMW yet.

Make sure the volume on your phone is on the highest level and then turn up the volume in the car. This worked for me.

Thanks, here is what I discovered:
1. When connected via bluetooth The iPhones volume control button adjusts the bluetooth volume not the ear volume.
2. When connected via bluetooth the BMW volume control adjusts the bluetooth volume not the overall stereo volume.

I turned both up to the max and got much better volume, it was a bit loud, so I adjusted the BMW volume down slightly so I will have a bit of headroom when traffic noises are high. I left the iPhone vol at max (it stays on this setting).

So know I have good volume, but not much room left to boost it higher when needed.

I looked into this when I ordered the cradle and was told it would NOT work the ipod functions (music)

It simply acts as a phone cradle, charging the phone and make use of the phone arial outside the car to improve reception.

All the phone commands are via bluetooth as normal - the cradle will not do anything special.

Hoipe that helps
