Tried a memory stick and that crapped out to FM as well.

Update from dealer confirms that the software fix is due in September. Can't say that I am too pleased about the wait :cussing: - I should have just waited till October for the MY08 E70 complete with a working 6FL option and the efficiency dynamic pack that would have saved me £100 a year in road tax and better MPG (not to mention probable stronger residuals).

It seems such a minor issue that I cannot use my Ipod interface but it is really souring my enjoyment of our new X5. Should I ask for the Ipod cable to be installed (the one that sits in the glovebox), will it work or will it too crap out and would it render the 6FL out of action?

What should I ask/expect from BMW? Am I expecting too much from an expensive luxury car i.e. that everything should work!!!

I think MY08 will have it's own problems .. auto tailgate etc.. !!! SO I wouldn't think that the new model will be bugfree.. it's an interesting bug.. can you use the Ipod through the aux in the meantime ?

Aux input dropping to WB

I don't have the 6FL connection, but I do connect my ipod through the AUX connection in the glovebox. When listening to the ipod on AUX and turning off the car, the stereo reverts to Weather Band for some reason. Sounds like a problem related to what you're seeing. The dealer said today that it's "normal", but I'm going to pick it up in 2 hours and will set them straight.

atl_lex77, did you ever get this fixed? My brand new 08 X5 is doing the exact same thing...defaulting to Weather Band on start-up when AUX was selected before turning car off. I also do not have the 6FL connection.

It's not that big a deal really but since you had the same issue, I would love to know if they were able to fix it.

Thanks...

Anyone ever get this resolved? Just got an '07 X5 with USB port and it is having the same issue. X5 is still under factory warranty?

Any recommendation?

Yes,

Take it in for service and they will update the software to the latest version. Have not had the problem since.
