E70 0-100km Performance
0-100km, 6.5s is a lie!
it's more like 7.7s/8s =/ now that's disappointing! |
i wouldn't care less about this on an suv. this is an suv/family/soccermom/mover vehicle, not a race car. a lot of people really do care about this kinda stuff. but its pointless. would you ever want to line up next to an souped up civic and race? man, i tell you those civic are crazy fast once they are properly modded. but if you take your m3 to the heat, thats when these number count. just forge about it. you never race anyone from 0-60 mph in this suv. thats just my opinion.

whats wrong with your x5... i raced my brother with his range vogue supercharged and my friends rr sport supercharge and the x5 was in front for about 2 car lengths ... maybe you didnt know how to start it , try evryway and see how you can race with a better start ,, and i tired 0-100 km 3 times only but the best i took out of the x5 was 6.9 and the best i could in a range rover was 8.somthng .... next time im trying with a 4.8is too see the difference ... if you couldnt do better than 8 sec i think ther is something wrong with your car ... plus the more you drive it the better car perfomance u will have ... |

well maybe i'm just a bad driver loool but i got pissed off when the range rover vogue passed me! ow yeah, i know this might sound dumb but is there a way to actually help the car move fast from 0-100? lol |

but when i raced , the gear i left it in sport , kept my left foot on the brake and the right foot on full throttle, kept the rpm at the highest.. and let go off the brake , it will have a good start ... i also hear that they have an exhaust system that really helps the car ... ill check on that |

friend with the range used to make fun off the x5`s performance ... and i was just like you ... the best way is to try all the things you can e.g. sport mode , manually change gears , keep the rpm high , or maybe just hit the throttle without braking , try evrything but be carefull ... i only tried it about three times ... but 0-100km in 6.4 seems impossible :saad: |

First of all, Do you have the Sport Button on your X? Also if you have the Sport PKG. What about 3RD ow seat?? How many KM do you have on your car? Is the Gas Tank full? Have you switch off the DTC and A/C? to get the best out of you X make sure you have over 7000 KM. If you have the Sport Button make sure to deactived the DTC. I beat a Cayenne S 2003 model. and as we speed up the distance between me and my friend getting longer... |

This car has been tested by numerous sources/publications, and none have come to the conclusion some here have. |

I have try the Cayenne S vs X5 myself many times with my friend. the Cayenne very close to the back bumper but can not get me. As I said before, the X5 non-sport with 3rd row which make the car havier by 150KG. 150KG might change the performance form 6.5 to 6.6. To get better performance make sure you have Sport PKG., Push the Sport Button, Big wheels 19+, Deactived DTC, and if you can turn off the A/C. ;) |

I drove an 04 Cayenne S before my E70 4.8 sport and the BMW sure does feel slower off the line. I have tested my X5 in perfect conditions many times and not once did I hit 60 mph in under 7 seconds. I also timed the video link 5 times and couldn't get any better than 7.1  I agree that BMW may have been a little optimistic with the 0-60 performance stat. :damn:
|
I don't find it surprising
I was inclined to think that all manufacturers put up the best possible stats for the cars (gas milage, 0-100 speed etc,..) becuase that helps to sell the car more! I bet they came up with 6.4 sec. with vehicle barely having any options on the car and on a minimal amount of fuel on board with a 130lb professinal driver who is trained to shift exactly at the torque peak, you know, things of that sort.
By the way, please don't be hurt when other cars pass you, they just have to show off by driving like that when we, the x5 owners, can ride at our own pace and still be respected. Besides, if not getting passed is your thing, should've got an M3 not an x5. :nanana: |

You are righ. Also the whees size it's important: with 18" size, for sure you have a better acceleration than a 20 or 21" wheels!!!

This guy was only using "D" as well - if he had used "DS" then he would've shaved a few tenths off his 0-100 time. |
to u all...read the fourth paragraph in this review,, http://www.caranddriver.com/shortroa...mw-x5-48i.html

Thought this might be of interest to you and anyone else who's read/reading this later.. I managed 6.6 in an unscientific test using the speed limiter set to 62mph and when the ding sent off, I stopped my stopwatch. Try the DS mode on the transmission if you're not doing so now. C&D managed 6.1 sec. HERE. |
