I'm weighing on whether I should get the 4.8 or 3.0 and other than power and mileage considerations there is about a 7k difference between the two equipped identically other than engine. I prefer the look of the chrome trim around the window sills as opposed to the black rubber of the 3.0. So my question is... is it possible to swap this out at the dealer and get OEM fit and finish?

isnt the chrome standard on both...the black is part of the spots package (btw- the black isnt rubber)

3.0s come with black rubber with plastic window sills
4.8s come with chrome window with plastic window sills

sports come with "shadowline" black gloss trim with annodized aluminum window sills

it has been done before on the e53, i see no reason why it can't work on the e70...but it's not as easy as peeling it off, and sticking new ones one. you probably need to take apart the entire door

ok, I wasn't sure if it was an easy job or not, more than likely kind of pricey... another reason to "need" the sport package if I go with the 3.0 :rofl:

Those are one of the 3 identifiers of a 4.8 vs 3.0 car (the chrome window trim). The front has the Titanium Kidneys, the rear the larger chrome exhaust tips and the side is the window trim. Of course on Sport Package models the chrome side trim is replaced, but unlike the non-sport 4.8 wheels (which look VERY similar to both wheels offered on the 3.0) the sport package 4.8 wheels (in both 19 and 20 sizes) are different enough to know them when you see them.
