I towed a trailer over the weekend and you cannot plugin the trailer lights if they are a diode type lighting system, they randomly go on & off. Aparrently the tailer has to have a special adapter box on it so the lights will work. I think the X5 idrive see's that theirs not enough volts being drawn as it brought up "check trailer lights" etc. on the dash readout and on my Heads-up display So if you going to hire a trailer make sure it has old fashion light bulbs. |
watrob, I think I read a post about that problem on here already, and I think they found a fix for it?

european hitch
As you know, the european hitch is a completly different animal. The ball is an integral part of the hitch, and it is almost but not quite 2 inches. However, it will work with a 2 inch coupler. The US type is a receiver hitch, and gives you a whole lot of options of ball size etc, while the euro is a one size fits all.

yes, but the us one is ugly as sin. I only need a 2 inch ball for my boat and my trailer. so if I can modify the bar/ball to fit the 2 inch I will be good and have a good looking(not seen) hitch.
my guess is I am going to have to use the wireing for the us version though |
