cargo net / separator

On my Volvo it came standard, but I see in the owners manual on page 116, they have the "Separation net" but there is a star. Does this mean it was factory option? Or can I still order it? Anyone know a part number or place to get one?

thanks

It is probably a BMW Accessory, and if you can't get it at the dealer, they can order it for you. It is not standard.

I have it on mine. I had to order it specifically. It is built into the load area cover so replaces the standard one.

Ok, that makes sense.. The dealer's parts guy couldn't find it in the catalogue.. I wonder how I can order one.. Does BMW sell direct?

It came with my X5 E70 which was a Exec model, maybe it's an optional extra on the standard model X5

Yea, I'm very miffed that on my $75,000 BMW it didn't come as standard, while on my $45,000 Volvo it did.. shame on you BMW, this is a major safety item too. I priced it at $700 btw..

Hey, they have to make a dollar somehow.

It's standard across the X5 range in Australia... I guess that's why we pay so much In Australia (even with our dollar 0.88 at close to an 18 year high against the USD)... it's the little things that matter....

or maybe its the law in your country to provide a barrier between the cargo and pax compartments. The US isn't known for the best road safety regs.

It costs £100 (pounds sterling) on the UK options list. I quite often have a full load area so I got it for the safety aspect. I think it should've been standard for safety reasons, especially as there was one as standard on the E53. It is a much better design than the E53 though in that it is properly integrated into the load cover.
