X5 Seat belt won't retract
 

I got lots of replies to my question about my seatbelt which won't retract, thanks to everyone.

I want to try and remove it and either repair or replace. I can't figure out how to get at the mechanism which is embedded in the door pillar. How does the pillar cover come off?

warranty?

It's a 2000 X5 with 102,000 kms so I don't think the warranty applies unless you know something different?

Personally with seatbelts I wouldn't do it yourself... they are a very important piece of equipment that if installed incorrectly may not give you a second chance to fix...
