Custom color on 08?
 

A friend of mine is planning to order 08 and was told there is a custom color option for around $3k. Has anybody heard of it yet?

i've heard of priority 1 color options for around 2k.... like how the e53 was offered in carbon black for 2k

Yes, they are priority 1 option which usually starts after 1st year of production.

there were custom colors on the e53 for $2500

wasn't advertised but there was estoril blue and imola red

No, "P1" are customer sold cars. These are cars that usually have names and are sold baring any unforseen circumstances. These cars can get "hidden" options and usally get pushed towards porduction faster and get priority shipping.

Carbon Black, Imola Red and Estoril Blue were all offered as standard colours on a particular model in the E53 range at one time or another so I would think that's why you could have them as custom colour on another model.

Maybe they are introducing Individual for the X5 ?
