New 2007 BMW X5 pricing issues
Can somebody help me understand this pricing nightmare? I am on the market for a new 07 X5. Checked BMWUSA.COM for pricing. I came with $51,825.00 for a brand new 07 X5 with these options: Technology package, Premium sound package and BMW assist. But a dealer in the Miami area is asking $53,771.00 for a used 07 with 1,500 miles without any option package and another is asking $53,995.00 for one with two option packages: premium package and technology package. what I am missing here? what kind of hidden prices are in there? Please somebody help me understand because I don't want to make such an expensive mistake.
thanks. |
I dunno but this is the price edmunds.com recommends you pay for the car:
http://www.edmunds.com/bmw/x5/2007/index.html It is basically "what everyone else in your area is paying for the exact car" guess. |
According to edmunds for your area code (miami) this is what I got.
MSRP: $51,825 Invoice: $47,690 TMV: $51,163 Prices include the $775 destination charge. If the car is sitting on the lot already the extra fees are probably for accessories added on the car (running board, floor mats, etc). Edit: I just re-read your post. You are comparing new inventory with old inventory. Dealers mark up used cars so when you go to bargain with them they slash off a few thousand thinking you got a great deal. To find out the true worth of a used car go to kbb.com |
I don't know about your area, but dealers in my area do not stock "no-option" X5s. They ALWAYS have some sort of option. Are you absolutely sure it has no options?

Anyway, how much would you guys suggest that I pay for one of those used cars? |
Both the used X5's sound way too high. I'm guessing the dealer put a bunch of mark up on the used ones.
Is there a new X5 you can get with the options you want? If you're set on one of the used ones, I'd say at least 5k under the price you listed if not more. The used ones seem to be pretty close to brand new MSRP pricing. |

I've just heard late word that the MSRP for most BMWs will stay unchanged for MY 2008, except for the facelift 6-series.

Just more expensive options I bet !!!
