Any Chips/ECU upgrades for a diesel E70

Hi,

In the Australian market moreseo, are there any chips or suppliers at this stage for the 3.0D model..? I know its early days, but are any companies overseas doing this, and if they are is this going to be ok for the Australian market..?

Cheers

Hey E70,

I caught this early last week, though will it work on the Australian X5...? we have around 160 Kw and 500Nm stock

and for cost, its prob. better to stay local...any aussie owners, any news on the australian front...??

I called . The Kit cost 1,300+ Euros. It comes with a one year guaranty for the engine.

These guys have a very good reputaion in the UK http://www.dmsautomotive.com/ and have been reviewed in many of the major magazines. Maybe worth contcting them to see if they have agents in other countries (the website has US contact details so they may well have).

watrob got his software or something changed to the NZ version and got some extra grunt (520nm vs. 500nm) ... he hasn't been on the forum for a while...

Superchips

You might try Superchips at www.superchips.co.uk. They claim an increase of 45 bhp, and 97 nm of torque. List price is 600 pounds. They actually only list chips for the E53, but the engines are essentially the same. Several friends here have chipped their E53's and are quite happy. I plan to do the same to my E70 when it comes in a couple of months. The only down side for you may be that they are pommies

dms automotive has one for 800 pounds. 275 hp, 580 nm torque..

they need the ecu and they program it the same day

undetectable by bmw diagnostics they claim
