CURIOUS but needs answers !!!

hello everybody .. i already told all of you that i ordered my 2008 x5 before august i think and it'll be available at the end of october . however , i have a few questions and i desperatley need answers !!

1) first , is the "front top view" option available in the 2008 ? or is it a standard feature ? and what ezactly does it do ?

2) my x5 is in platinum bronze exterior , saddle interior , sports package and basically full options .. however my dealer did not ask me about which type of seats i would like .. is the comfort seats standard ? or maybe cuz i ordered the sports package then i will have the seats as "sports seats" ? i am very confused  and can someone tell me the difference between these two types of seats ? is the "comfort seats" the same as the one in the 750Li ( the one with the comfy-looking headrest) ?

3) about the "comfort access" .. i understand that if you have this option then there is no need to out the key in the key holder to start the car .. all you have to do is press the brake and push the start/stop button .. BUT what is the use of the key holder then if u dont need to insert the key there to switch the car on ?!?!?!?!?

4) what is the standard rim size of the x5 sports package including aerodynamic kit ? 20 or 21 ??

Thank you ALL in advance .. i am really confused about those issues and i need to know ASAP so i can change the order if i need to !!!!

THANKS !!!

I can only help with this part of your question. You need the slot for your emergency key which does not work with comfort access., and you can also insert your standard Comfort Access Key, although it kinda deafets the purpose. You would also need the slot if the battery dies in your CA key(s).

I have CA on my E90 and it is one of the best options ever. With CA you can unlock the car simply by grabbing the door handles. This saves you having to fumble about your pockets (or handbags!) for your key.

It depends largely on the local market but my best guesses are:

1. Don't know
2. My guess is that unless you have specifically selected comfort seats then you will get sports seats (without the comfy headrest)
3. It is there for the valet key to be able to operate the car I believe
4. Unless otherwise specified you will probably get one of the 19" wheel styles (211, 212 or 213) - 20s and 21s are usually extra money

It may well be different in UAE, so check with the dealer.

The slot is there for convience (and because it would cost more to remove it)
I use it when ever I use valet (so I dont have to explain CA)
I also use the slot when washing the car, otherwise when you spray water on the doors the lock/unlock the entire time.
Also the CA key will NOT charge in the slot- it has a non rechargeable battery.

Regarding seats- be sure to request Comfort Seats ( or even better the Active/Ventilated Seats)...they are not standard and must be ordered. These seats are a MUST!!!

BTW- Dont assume the dealer ordered everything you might want, demand a list of every option otherwise you will be dissapointed.

i didnt understand what you mean by "it will not charge" .. "it is a non rechargable battery" and one more question .. what is "CA" ? Comfort access ?

CA = Comfort Access

the key fob needs a battery, it is not a rechargable battery.

I was just correcting Post #2 "You would also need the slot if the battery dies in your CA key(s)."

This is not correct.

Sorry, I didn't mean to imply that the CA key can be recharged, just that if you battery is low and the car cannot detect the key through CA then you can insert the key like and use it like the standard one.
