Nappa Leather Question
How does the Nappa Leather differ from the standard leather?
Is it softer, is it as durable, is it harder to look after etc? Thanks P.S. I feel bad because all I do on this forum is ask questions instead of providing answers! I am just trying to finalise my order. After I receive my Car I plan to be a much more helpful member of this community;) |
Nappa leather is much softer and much less 'grainy' then the usual Dakota leather found in most models from BMW. Nappa leather is the standard on M's and optional on some other models. It is very soft, almost to the point you would think you can rip it. But it is just as durable as Dakota leather.

The Nappa on the M6 is simply stunning IMO. |

The Nappa leather is softer, and less grainy than most other BMW leathers. Think of it as Lexus leather. I do like it, but I'm not sure about the durability since I haven't had long term experience with it. I know the Montana leather on my X3 is fairly durable, showing only minimal signs of wear after 47k miles. |
