Front bumper / Wing removal ... How?

Hi,

I got a scratch in in my front bumper / wing in an underground carpark, has anybody removed it, it would be much earier to touch up if it was off the car and blend in the scratches.

Thanks

Try this link. At least it may give you an idea.

Did you remove the bumper? Have you found out anything else on how to remove it?

After spending about 2 hours taking off the bumper (that was easy) running boards and arch trim I still could not get the wing off there was lots of difficult to reach fixings, something around the headlight kept it fixed to the main body so I just gave up and put it back together.

In the end I just masked up the car and touched up the scratch,

hey irishE70x5,

after removing the bumper, running boards, and arch trim, are you able to use the same fastening screws and clips? or did you need to purchase new ones?

I would like to know as well. I plan on removing the black plastic part (non-painted part) of the bumper to install a radar detector under the bumper. What kind of clips? Are there any plastic rivits?

I would also like instructions on removing the bumper. I am trying to replace the mesh grille.

The bumper comes off easily I am on holidays at the moment but basicly just remove all the bolts and screws and give it a tug forward and it should come away.

The wheel arch trim is held in place by two means plastic rivets that need to be replaced and some plastic tabs which will hold it in place until you get the new rivets

The running board are held in place with bolts and some concealed plastic clips which if you are lucky you wont break any when you pull it away I retrofited the running boards on mine so I broke 2 and had spares

Thanks IrishE70X5. Any clips or rivits needed to be replaced for just the bumper removal or is it all screws and bolts? Also, how long to remove just the bumper. Do the parking sensor wiring have enough play to remove the bumper and place it on the ground? Sorry for all the questions I am sure you have much better things to do on your vacation.....Cheers.
