anyone else get a letter for "recall campaign no. 07v-391: brake fluid reservoir cap" dated september 2007.

There's a SIB on this... to be replaced at scheduled service I thought rather than a recall...? I haven't received a letter...

Got the recall letter over the weekend. Says you should make an appointment to get it repaired asap.

Got a call only (from the supplying dealer), this, plus seat belts and air bags..Phoned my local dealer and tried to book it in and they said, `no recalls are shown on their system`.
Me thinks I`ll try again....

what about seat belts and air bags?

Supplying dealer said seat belts could release `at any time!` and the air bags needed `re-setting?`

I've had two recorded delivery letters. One for seat belts and the other for fluid resevoir cap.

I just got it today, the brake fluid cap one.

Please post copies of the recalls.

Here is the brake reservoir cap defect... note production dates affected.

SITUATION
The cap for the brake fluid reservoir incorporates a fluid level switch. The switch is used to monitor the level of brake fluid in the reservoir. When the fluid falls below the minimum level, the switch triggers a warning lamp in the instrument cluster. Due to a manufacturing fault within the switch, the switch may fail to trigger the warning light.

AFFECTED VEHICLES
This Recall Campaign involves X5 vehicles which were produced from February 5th, 2007 through April 30th, 2007.

In order to determine if a specific vehicle is affected by this Recall Campaign, it will be necessary to utilize the "Service Menu" of DCSnet (Dealer Communication System) or the Key Reader. Based on the response of the system, either proceed with the corrective action or take no further action.

CORRECTION
Check the serial number listed on the label attached to the brake booster. If the serial number matches the attached list, replace the brake fluid reservoir cap.
