Wandering eye

As I wait and wait and wait patiently for my X5 to arrive, I find myself getting a wandering eye... a wandering eye for an M5. A Space Gray M5 with black interior... The videos on YouTube are not helping.

Must be strong... need car for driving to mountains... Must resist temptation

You must. I almost got myself into an RR Sport while waiting for the E70 to arrive. The long wait makes you look around but I'm so glad I waited, very patiently. Much worth it. Good luck.

you're going from a 3.0 to an m5? a 3.0 fully loaded with passenger and gear is gonna have trouble scaling mountains...

Waiting makes you irrational

The X5 is nice but can't be compared to the M5 (in terms of ultimate driving pleasure).

agreed. i walked into the bmw dealer with absolutely NO intent of purchasing. hardly even knew what an X5 was. I was actually looking to buy a 535. I was sitting there dealing with the sales guy on a 535 when I saw a beautiful white X5 in the showroom floor, and 2 hours later I'm driving out in a 4.8. THEN I find this forum and found out that if I had waited another few months I could be in a TT diesel :(

I to am resisting the urge to go and get me a RR sport s/c everyday ..

Whelllllll - IMHO, a few more months may be a bit optimistic. You may see it in late 2008 then you'll want 6 to 12 months of US experience before you can make a confident decision that it's the right thing. By then, you'll be ready to sell your 4.8!

Don't want to hijack the thread but here's my M5 that was delivered last week.

I was never able to get pics of the X5 and M5 together, the X5 was in the shop for to long and never came back :-(

Nice ride...why on earth would you need that radar?!

Wandering eyes may want to check out the active boards of the RR Sport. I'm not, I say f*** that thing. Patience for the 08. And I've checked a few dealers just see what they're hearing or rather "saying":

Century in Greenville, SC (9 iron to the factory): Had one but it's gone; will have another probably by the weekend.

Crevier, Shelly, and Bob Smith (all So Cal) & Advantage (Houston): say by month end.

Can you wait? Can you? If you don't, send us a pic of your RR Sport.:nanana:
