question on dual exhaust...
 

will replacing the stock exhaust tips on the 3.0si require swapping out the mufflers too?

it seems from the pictures that the tips are very short and welded to the mufflers.

and the replacement tips (dual) available are usually longer than the stock ones thus making them stick out too far!

seems like it's easier to just replace the entire muffler/tip piece with a performance muffler w/dual exhaust tips...

what is the main pipe diameter that connects to the muffler? 2.5 inches?

does anyone have exhaust layout diagrams or pictures???

BMW doesn't sell the 4.8i tips, only the complete exhaust. Checkout the following thread:
