yes but not all cars .. and u can easily deactivate it ..

we have our QX56 and it doesnt even beep .. it just flashes "120" in the gauge .. and besides the x5 just chimes when it goes over 120 and so does our s class and our range ..

and BTW not all cars are equipped with that thing .. we have 10 cars in our garage and not one of them stays beeping .. they just chime once when it goes over 120 and thats it
