I PICKED UP MY 2008 X5(W/PIX)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 

I picked up my 2008 x5 lastnight and now I just got some pix.
I think I'm the first one who got 2008 model!!!!! :dance::dancing:

Compare to 4.4i which I had before, BMW did a really good job on suspension.
Active ventilated seat is absolutely comfortable.
Rearview camera & HUD are really convenient.

Yes, I have Active Steering. Handling is really smoother and nicer!

Auto H indicates "Auto holding". Your car never move unless you step on the gas pedal while waiting for signal or in the middle of traffic jam.
After I got used to it, it was really convenient. :)

Is Auto H standard on MY 08 or is it another option to add to the list? Thanx.

Well... honestly I'm not sure but I'm guessing it's standard on 08 models.

It was some sort of surprise feature. My dealer even didn't know what that was. He looked up the manual and told me how to use it.

KaiFay, when your car has been built in end of August it´s a 2008 modell by paper, but you will not have all the 2008 model new features, so no auto hold..... hehehehehehe :nanana: .

So you better order a new one anf throw the "old one " away
(if you do so, please into my direction or wanna change yours with the New Beetle sedan of my wife hahaha)

My X5 is 2007 but i still have that AUTO H indicator on my cluster, just don't know how to use it yet, any idea how to activate it? too lazy to look in the manuall hehe

The clusters have had the wording there from start of E70 production. However, there's been no functionality until the '08 model release. You need to have the button under the parking brake to enable it.

GaiwanY, my x5 was produced in the first day of October. I'm not sure whether you'll get it since options are a bit different among countries.

For everyone,
Concerning about Auto Holding, This was what I experienced today.
When you release your brake pedal from complete stop, your x5 crawls forward slowly. In the middle of slow traffic, it's really annoying. I used to engage P while waitng till cars moves.... and then shifted back to D.

This Auto Holding makes your X5 complete stop no matter it is downsloping or whatever.. without engaing P.
When you wanna move forward, just step on the gas pedal..
If you dont want then you can turn it off by pushing the button next to (P) button.;)

Now I really like this car!!! :)

Looks Great in Black - but after 3 Black cars I just can't take the upkeep to keep them looking great anymore.

man American pricing is so nice..... Love Canada but even with the stronger loonie, BMW pricing is HARSH up here.

can you take and post more pictures of the interior of this car please? i can't decide about getting beige interior or black on my x5 (getting black sapphire on outside). i'd like to see more pics of the black interior to get a better feel.

any thoughts? does it feel 'too' dark? i currently have beige in my 2002 x5 and feel it's slightly more 'luxurious'... but black looks cool and i could possibly use a change. not sure...

Black interior is absolutely gorgeous.
I also had black interior in my previous 2006 x5 and I loved it.
I think black is somewhat hard to keep clean but the fabulous-looking black interior compensate efforts to keep it clean.

Here is one solution - hop in your car and head to Wagner in Shrewsbury, about 50 minutes west on 90. They have all of the interior colors on the lot, including tobacco (at least the last time I was there a few weeks ago).

That is not the Auto Hold Feature. All 07's have the feature you describe, although I see no real use for it with an automatic trans. The Auto Hold thing for 08 is an idiotic invention and I predict there will be accidents as a result somewhere down the line.

what's auto hold do?
