How cool this is//////

I just notice that the bumper corners are part of the front fender, therefore when you have a front end collision and either corner is not fixable, you must replace the fender, the car looks cool, but I dont think it is practical.

I thought thats what the cans of Bondo are for!

You should see what the guys on the street corner in Brooklyn can do with that stuff and a can of spraypaint

In the U.S. you have to carry a good comp and collision insurance. It all comes down to what choice of deductible you want to pay for. For me personally, it would only cost me $100 dollars deductible for a trip to the body shop to have this thing replaced or any type of damage. The point is, practically doesn't really come to play when you are fully covered.

Either way, drive safe out there.

Only $100 comp. deductible....that's gotta cost some $$$ in CA

You betcha. The funny thing about this, I used to carry $500 deductible. The wife scraped the bumper twice on my E53 while trying to parallel park next to the wall so I decided to bump it up to $100 deductible. Now that I have parking sensors on the E70, I think I should take it back to $500 again

I mean really, there are actual owners who have not noticed this???

I knew it the first time I looked at one in person, so I am shocked someone might own the vehicle and not have seen it. Then again, maybe you guys do not hand wash your cars.

As far as the damage issue, the bumper (which is the black part in the middle that also surrounds the lower openings in the fenders) does protrude to protect the front end (and those fenders) in a minor collision. If you look at many new cars today, there are a number of them that (like the X5) do not offer the protection the older chrome capped beasts did from minor bumps, but that's the price of vanity.;)
