Has anyone used the new BMW Connected Drive Services?

Has anyone used these recently re-packaged and rebranded online services? If so, what do you think of them? Worth the money?

Do you not get a free trial or do you have to buy a subscription up front?

You get 6 months free trial of BMW Assist but that does not include the web browser and SMS facilities.

There's a feature called BMW Mobile Internet Portal which you can pre-configure through a BMW website via your PC and it feeds directly to iDrive. It includes services such as RSS feeds and SMS texts directly to the iDrive screen. Beyond that, I have very little detail.

Also, it would appear that you can push addresses from the special website directly into your address book for navi????

oh, i tihnk this is only available in europe, etc.... not here in the USA. of course... bmw leaving ANOTHER feature out of our USA hands.... crazy.

It's 6 months in the UK market, AND we don't get a premium package. All options are listed and priced separately.

In US bmw vehicles 2007 and newer get free bmw assist for 4 years and $199 after that. There is also optional concierge plan which is pretty expensive.

When I applied for the 6 months free Assist I also got 3 years of the BMW connected drive for free. The confirmation letter from BMW meant nothing to me in terms of what this was until I was browsing another forum. I still haven't used it though.

On that forum (e90) other guys have been applying and getting the same apparently BMW UK are/were doing a promotion on the system. I applied in early September.

Not sure if its still on though. Would be worth checking.
