No Rear Climate Privacy Option
 

Got good deal on 2007 new Black on Black X5 3.01s.off dealer lot. Premium package and ipod adapter , park distance control and 3rd row seats. But does not have Rear Climate Privacy option which i have in 2003 . Now vechicle looks like a fish bowl . Made big mistake and want to trade in with only 200 miles. Probally will have to keep this one for a while.:bawling: still own 2003 X5

just go get the windows tinted... might not be as good as factory... but should be almost the same.

+1 to an obvious, simple solution

I ordered my X5 thinking for the factory tint windows. After receiving the car, I felt it was way too light and ended up having to tint it anyways. Do a search for window tint and you will find some other threads on the topic.

I did the same thing, tinted over the factory tint.

Back window is no problem it is done all the time. As a matter of fact you are probably further ahead than the rest of us with factory tint, at least you can be assured of even tinting all the way around. It is difficult to match tint with the factory option.

Why would you get rid of the E70 just because it does not have factory tint? This is my 2nd X5 and both of them I have factory tint but I still tint all the windows. Besides, you can't even tell the difference between factory and aftermarket tints.

Thanks, do you know what tint on back windowcame from factory? I have premium package but no rear climate control package. Does the back window already have privacy glass. Thank You .

I am pretty sure you have to have rear climate. I have noticed that between 04 and 06 BMW's tint on the rear windows has weakened. However this year's X5 for some reason seems a bit darker than my 06 model which had everything but Premium Sound, Nav, and Comfort Seats.

Not sure with 2008 models, but with 2007 privacy glass only came with the rear climate package. The factory tint level is 35% for all the windows (rear sides amd rear).

Thanks, All the 5 widows front, backs and rear have same tint from factory. $700 for for rear climate is fine but bought off dealers lot and did not have.

I ordered without the rear climate and got 15% FormulaOne Pinnacle installed prior to delivery. My old X5 had the factory tint rears and I could never find a film for the fronts that matched perfectly.

What do you mean? I ordered the car without rear climate, so I assume it had no tint on any of the windows, that's why I got 15% all around. The factor rear climate is around 35%.

I haven't actually seen the car yet, I asked the dealer to take care of it before delivery.

The rear window has lines must be for wipers of defoggers . Can you put tint over that or does the factory need to do it? Thanks

Factory tint for me is too light, your going to end up tinting it. I went 20% all around and 35% front windshield.

You can put tint over the Defroster lines.

Thanks, I see in your profile you have ceramic tint. Sounds like good solutions. I have Black on Black and will want 35%.
