Here's the offer my CA is giving me for the 239 style wheels.

If I don't get the 20" wheels, I can take that $950 credit and apply it to the 239's which he'll sell to me for a bit under $4,000.

How is that?

That doesn't sound like a good deal. Considering the 20's are $4000.00 alone and if you order the 20's from the factory you get the wheel flares. $950.00 credit is an insult. Why can't you get the 20's from the factory? Take the 20's and sell them and put that towards the 239's.

better yet get it delivered with the 20's then have the dealer do an even swap, before delivery, same prices, right?

I agree with Denalio, not a deal at all and try what buschy said, see if they'll go for that.

Yes, but it's unlikely that the dealer wants to stock a set of the 214's (or the 239's for that matter) so you are asking him to take a set of wheels/tires on trade with no profit motive for him to do so. I seriously doubt the dealer is going to go for it.

Okay, wait wait. You're telling me that the 20" wheels cost the same as the 21" 239 style wheels? If that's the case, why can't I just request them when being built.

Sorry I was thinking the 239's were 20's also. So there would be some cost difference (the tires probably being the biggest part of that). The main point is that you can't expect the dealer to special order in a set of wheels and tires and give you full credit on the 214's (including the $950.00 you paid extra for them) towards the other wheels. In any case, you would not be able to ask for them to be specified when the truck was being built (regardless of any cost difference) since the BMW facility does not stock those wheels/tires as a normal option and therefore would not have them on hand to install. The bottom line is this: If the dealer is offering to take the 214's, give you $950.00 off of the slightly less then $4K cost on that set, it's probably a decent deal, since the retail on that set is close to $6000.00. If he was only offering the $950.00 towards the $6000.00 cost I would call foul, but this seems like a fair deal. The only better deal would be to see if he will still sell them for less than $4K and let you keep the 214's (not giving you the $950.00 credit of course). Then you can sell those 214's to a member here for $2300-3000 pretty easily from what I have seen and get back more towards those wheels and tires you wanted.

yeah I still think you can get the dealer to give you more then $950 to trade the wheels in towards more expensive wheels. if not like Shu said sell them then buy the 239's .. I am sure you can buy that at morristown or tischner for less then at your dealer.

You're better off selling the 20's to an interested member, like me ;)
