Top View and Side View
With this moths BMW Car magazine there is a copy of the BMW configurator on CD Rom. Interestingly it has both the Top View and Side View features listed so presumably they will be available sometime in the relatively near future.
Have to say I am not convinced of the benefit of these and frankly if you need these cameras to be able to judge the width of an X5 I am not sure you should be driving one anyway. One thing that drives me to distraction is drivers that cannot judge the width of their car, not an issue in the US but a huge one in a city like London where many of the residential streets are only just wide enough for 2 cars to pass each other when there are parked cars.
