ride quality between 19 inch and 20 inch tire

Hello! Is there a big difference on ride and handling quality between a 19 inch tire and 20 inch tire staggered oem? Can't decide if I should order the 20 inch staggered wheel to go with the 2008 x5 4.8 that I'm about to order. I'm torn between the good looks of staggered wheel and more bouncy ride from a lower profile tire. Pls advice. Thanks

When I test drove both vehicles, I couldn't really tell, both still smooth. If there is a difference it would not be that much.

Is style 214 y spoke, the only available wheel staggered on 4.8x5? I wish theres more style to choose from.

I test drove both and to me, the 20" wheels/tires rode a little bit stiffer. Not a huge difference, but it's there. The steering seemed to have a little more drag to it with the 20" wheels/tires too.

not much of a difference.. I test rode both and couldn't tell because they are both Run Flats and thus stiff as it is...

changing to aftermarket tires on the 20s should improve it a bit...

i did that for my Landcruiser and plan to do the same on the 08.

in terms of comfort, yes you do feel a bit more of the bumps (enough to notice if you pay attention) and the 20" will have more pull (on uneven surfaces) in terms of the driving characteristic, becuase they are much wider.I like the extra width and the look of the 20"s. I am also getting the winter tires package (18" rims and dunlop winter runflats) and I expect that to soften up the ride a bit. hope that helps

wont be a huge difference. blame the dreaded runflats

there are a couple of dealer-provided styles which are staggered I think

style 215 and style 239 (both 21") and possibly more, a couple of alternate 20" I think
