Vers 27.2 Ipod fix??? quick response needed

I am bringing in my X5 tomorrow at 7:00 am est. I was just talking to my service tech to see how long this was going to take-the anwser the usual 1.5 -6 hours to install and vet the 27.1 update. Then he said they just received yesterday vers 27.2 which the will be installing instead

Does anyone know anything about this, and what changes and updates it entails, and whether it is going to screw things up even more?????

this is time sensitive since I go in 12 hours

any insight greatly appreciated

the latest version is usually the best bet... new versions also contain all the changes and fixed introduced in the older versions...

no guarrantee that you won't have issues in the future but you should be in better shape going forward than if you didn't update...

Mine is in the dealers now with the 27.2. upgrade not sure what to expect. Though for your info my dealer said the upgrade needs to load overnight so needs to be in for a couple of days.

ipod saga continues

Good news. I got my X5 back yesterday after 8 hours in the shop and the IPOD seems to be working fine. For Peter M-your dealer telling you it will take a couple of days to load 27.2 is pure bunk. I had a chance to hang out with my technician a bit and he say's the whole proces takes 1.5 hours-but needs to run through several modules without crashing.

Needless to say mine crashed 3 times hence the 8 hours. But we eventually got it right. And to his credit he stayed after closing time to make it work.

The big question here is why BMW is shipping or not testing these vehicels-evidently 2007s produced in July and August without doing the necessary quality control.

Anyhow I hope you get yours back in a timely manner and it works

chris

ps-I am going to start another thread to see if anyone knows how to play the ipod through the adapted i the shuffle songs mode

Sorry to be a little off topic, but how do I find which version I have installed?

You need to ask the dealer. I don't know of any other way.
