BMW Assist Question

I was under the impression that the free BMW assist in the US only includes the basic safety plan. The convenience plan, that includes traffic assist is an option for an additional annual fee. This info was also given to me by a BMW-NA rep.

I was using the driving directions on my nav yesterday and I was advised of a traffic back up and re-route option, which worked great by the way.

I do not subscribe to the convenience plan but yet I received real time traffic information.

Does anybody know if real time traffic is standard on the free BMW assist?

after select color and leather, you will select options.
click on the navigation , it says "Real Time Traffic Information is also included, and does not require a monthly service charge. This service, available in many metropolitan areas, can help guide you toward less congested roads."

Or straight to the PDF. http://www.bmwusa.com/NR/rdonlyres/D...BMW_Assist.pdf

Thanks.

I did searched it from the BMW web and found this link:
http://www.bmwusa.com/owners/bmwassist/convenience saying traffic info is part of convenience plan that requires an annual fee. Then I called our good friends at BMW-NA and told me the same thing.

I figured it's free since I'm not paying for it. That's all that matters.

This stuff works great specially in the L.A. freeway parking lots.

Perhaps they are refering to BMW assist which cost $199.00 after the first year.
