Carbon black or Space Grey 3.0sd M package?
Which do i go for Carbon black or Space Grey 3.0sd M package? I must decide today. Must finalise the order tomorrow, what do you guys think, please give advise. I currently have the space gray 3.0 which is being replaced in Feb, like the colour but have had ongoing problem with the vehicle. I have changed with the sales lady 3 time already. Every alterate day i have a different decision about the colour. I have seen the M package in black it is awsome, not sure if it will be as good in the space grey. I was not sure if it was the carbon or saphire black. I did notice a few swirl marks already on the black. I know black is hard to keep clean but the grey also shows dirt unlike the Titanium.
PLEASE HELP ME MAKE UP MY MIND. i am confused. |
space gray, mine is being bulid as we speek :)
may i suggest the aero kit instead of the M? IMO the M looks like an anbelace! |
Carbon Black is hands down the best paint color BMW has ever had.
|
I REALLY like the black on an M5 (and other M series). I also REALLY hate swirl marks. Not too worried about a bit of dirt though.
I looked very closely at the two black X5s and the gray/grey one. The Space Gray won outright and that's what I ordered  |
Carbon black is nothing like regular black on a Bimmer. Very cool color.
|
any pics of the two??? carbon black is nice... but i agree the space gray is the way to go...it will show the outlines and add-ons much better than the black..
and i also agree the aerokit is a better look than just getting the m-pkg. |
Carbon black.

These are fairly accurate, the second shows how it looks black when not lit directly by the sun.

amazing how the colour changes.
|
wish it was a standard BMW color....
|
m-package... definitely black over gray imo. Really don't like the colored bumpers on anything but black. ;)
|
My last two cars have been Carbon Black....it's a fanastic colour but I am a little bored of it now! Bugger to keep looking good like any black car.
I would go for it! The E53's I have seen in it look great. BMW are very clever as they know it's a colour that people will spec the M SPort just to get Carbon Black. |
Thank you all for your imput, in the end I changed my mind again and went for the saphire black. I am excited also went for the M 20" wheels they look awesome. In the end $30000 in extras so it should be a great vehicle, just hope I dont have all the problems that I have on my current e70.
Once again thanks all. |
carbon black +1
mom has it on her m3... AMAZING |
Carbon black, there's no other choice.
|
Carbon is the best :)

Moonstone would be right up there, it's an amazing colour. Maybe not on an X5 though. Ruby Black, Bluewater and Silverstone are all great too. Everyone is different though. I have owned Estoril Blue and Carbon Black M3's and currently have a Carbon Black 535d....I am not sure which one is best. Very model and era specific in my mind....don't think there is an answer. |
Here is a thread with my E53 in Carbon Black: http://www.xoutpost.com/x5-e53-forum/...roduction.html
