Any 4.8i owner got recall notice?
 

It’s never amusing to get a recall notice in the mail, but better knowing that there’s a problem and dealing with it than letting it be. BMW on its behalf will send a notice to 29,250 owners of MY 2006-2007 550i, 650i coupe and convertible and MY 2007 X5 4.8i models for an engine cable repair.

According to the NHTSA, in conditions of below freezing temperatures combined with low humidity, it is possible for electrostatic discharge to occur at the fuel rails. If this were to occur, the V8 engine’s electronic control unit (ECU) could be affected resulting in engine stalling and we all know what that means when you’re on the road… The recall will begin during November 2007 with BMW dealers repairing the problem by attaching two ground cables in the engine compartment.

I just got the notice but mine was already repaired when it went in for the brake cap recall.

Yup got mine last Saturday and it will do in the 25th. I had never taken it in and there is a short list to do, steering wheel memory, center vent blower issue and too sensitive alarm plus oil change.

Got mine done as well. Quick and easy :thumbs:
