Black Wheels for my X5

Would love some wheel advice for my black 2006 X5. I'm aiming for black wheels, something along these lines: http://jalopnik.com/cars/ham-on-it/h...e70-265087.php

Any and all recommendations are greatly appreciated. Trying to keep total cost around $2K.

I think those Hamman's will be about $1500 a piece, go with the Powdercoated 214's

buschy 11-16-2007 09:27 AM

You don't want all black. You need a chrome or polisedh lip. otherwise, they wheels dont show and they look dirty. so I would say the hamans if anything.

what do you guys thnk about the HRE 940R ?? I was thnking about getting 21's anyone know if 22's fit?

drod 11-16-2007 07:24 PM

rough ride with anything over 20s.... i wouldn't do 22s!! but large dubs are in!!

all black on black wheels does look stealthy!! try looking at black wheels with polished lips!

I think the black rims look neat. I can't believe how expensive they are....geez!

Nope .....Pass

King 11-16-2007 08:24 PM

Personally I think those blk 214's power coated look ugly. I bet you the seller didn't like them either after he got them painted. If you wanted bigger wheels, why the heck would you paint the old ones blk before you sold them?? He's full of crap!

I would definately get a polished lip if you are going with blk wheels, although those Hammans don't look bad either...

I ordered the volsteiner 20" wheels pictured in ths link:
http://www.vorsteiner.com/bmw/v200.html#

The ones I requested for will have black spokes and the lip will be hyper polished. These wheels weigh in at about 12 Kg each and cost me a total of USD 5200.00 shipped to Singapore.

I should be receiving them around the same time as my ride which will be black / nappa beige just after X'mas.

22" are just fine, they look perfect for the vehicle. They are not too big and not too small, anything past 22" are steam rollers for the vehicle.

Here's a picture below with 22" wheels also:

And if you don't want polished lip then save yourself some money and just don't clean you exisitng wheels and they will be black after week's driving. ;) :)

I agree 22's are maximum... the guy I bought my 20's from upgraded to 24" and it looked way off. The 22's leave a lot of space though from the tires... the pictures X5 above is lowered.

I have a set of 23" lowenhart ld6 from my previous ride and was deciding on wether to put them on. Any problems with rubbing?

There is no way that's the Saddle interior. It looks orange.

Glad we got the beige...
