Quick Question

When u change the gear to "DS" (not tiptronic) .. how exactly does the car change in terms of acceleration and suspension ?

thanks in advance

It doesn't do anything to the suspension. It increases the revs at which the auto changes up.....don't know if it affects the throttle response, others will know.

oh my.. Kaify, have you actually read the manual? I guess you were too busy with other things such as taking off the plastic around the seat... and getting 0-100 is important on your way to school or your other responcibilities...
There is a break in period of 1200 miles or 2000 Km and BMW requests not to drive over 4500rpm as well as avoiding full-trottle operation. and thats only for the engine, there is also a break in for tires, brakes, etc...
There is always time for fun, and BMW's are made for that, but why dont you first read the manual, get to know your car follow BMW reccomendation and then really enjoy the Ultimate Driving Machine.
BTW. I am sure after the break in, your 0-100 and your gas economy will get better, but then again, you never broke your car in, so we dont even know if it will ever give you its maximum performance.

FYI. Break in information on page 128 of US manual and its first page of driving tips.

Hear hear.........:iagree: PLEASE read the manual. You will be surprised at what you learn.

i already read the manual .. i broke in 1,000 km already .. my dealer never mentioned anything abt 2,000 but he did say 1,000 ..

SP Mode

As far as I know DS just changes the shifting points up and down to a more agressive mode.(higher RPMs) When in the mountains I find it actually works better as regular D hunts a bit too much for my taste.
