Steering resistance Question
is it just me or is the steering for the E70 really really tough? Other cars i've driven had a much lighter feel to the steering wheel. When turning from all the way to the left to all the way to the right when parking for maneuvering through tight space with one hand I have to put some effort into turning the wheel. It does not seem to return to the normal position either often. is there anyone else having this problem?

No problems here with active steering. A little tougher with the fat 20's than the 19's.

Steering Pressure
No issue here either. I think I recall reading about a posting where someone had a silimar issue and it was a bad steering rack.

I brought the X5 in for a laundry list of problems. One being a rattle that eventually turned out to be a bad swaybar. After the first service, I noticed the streering was much lighter but still had the solid feedback. The incorrect diagnosis fixed a problem I didn't know existed. Turns out I had a defective power steering rack and return hose. Have your dealer check that area out to see if it helps. |
the x5's steering is amazing with active steering .. parking is a breeze !! :)

For those of you complaining about the steering effort, what cars did you guys drive before?
I found the X5 sport with Active Steering far too light and numb. |
