Extended Warranty offer... help please

1 Attachment(s)
Hey everyone,

My Credit Union is financing my X5 4.8, and they are making me this offer for an extended warranty:

(See attached PDF)

Attachment 20718

And this is the prices they're quoting me:

Term Amount
72/90000 $2610.00
60/100000 $2461.00
60/75000 $1931.00

Please see attachment, this is the supreme coverage it covers everything 1-16.

Any input on whether or not I should go for this would be greatly appreciated as I'm scheduled to get my X5 in a few days. Thank you!

Here's a question for ya:

Hmmm? Excelent question sir... who would be the appropriate party I ask: my credit union or my BMW dealer?

The one offering the warranty of course (Credit Union) . But don't take their word for it check with the company offering the warranty also.

You could check with a dealership but if it is limited to just a few dealers some may say ok while others may say no. It needs to be written in the contract.

I just received a reply from my credit union saying that the warranty is honored at all BMW dealers throughout USA. I'm just waiting to hear from my BMW dealer.

If that's the case, how is this offer?

The offer may be fine money wise but the security is in the details. What company is offering the warranty? If you have a bit of time read thru this thread. http://www.xoutpost.com/x5-e70-forum/...ended+warranty

But what ever you do read the fine print before signing the dotted line.
People often say something is this or that but when the rubber hits the ground it was only a misunderstanding. Personally I would need to see it in writting and then call a few BMW dealerships to see if it's the real deal.

I wouldn't do it for any price. Only extended warranty, that I will consider in 4 years time, will be one that I buy from BMW.
