Rear DVD headphones do not work.
 

I have been waiting to get my rear DVD fixed since April. They say parts are on the way from Germany. The unit plays but the IR for the headsets does not work. 450 km of listening to my kids comedy DVD's through the sound system is driving me nuts.

I am losing confidence in BMW electronics. I realize that these are advanced cars but Lexus can make that stuff work. In fact it worked on my E53, and on this car until they had to do a softwar upgrade. No I will not buy a Lexus of MB they are fine automobiles but boring to drive.

Note to self - forget the luxury electronics and stick with a more basic car/ SAV. Save money and have more fun. I have had my Z4 for 3 years and only basic service (oil changes etc.) a better experience - from the same assembly facility too.

Call BMW North America when your dealer drags their feet on an issue.

The members here pointed me in that direction with the number of issues I have experienced. Although my dealer still does a pretty poor job of getting things fixed, having someone from corporate prodding them helps quite a bit. In my case, an indifferent "we might be able to get you in next Thursday and all the loaners are booked" which was 10 days away was the initial response. Next thing I know, my E70 was on the rack the next day at 7:30AM and I had a rental supplied by the dealer.

I am a very patient person but to me, 7 months is not acceptable.

This is not my first car from this dealer and I think that they are getting complacent. I will escalate the matter.
