Steering wheel is off

Just wanted to ask if anybody has experienced the same problem. My steering wheel is a little bit to the left. When I am driving on a perfect pavement it is OK, but when I am driving on anything other than straight pavement, the sttering wheel always seem to be to the left. The more crooked the road the more it goes to the left. (as far as 5 degrees)
The car doesn't pull, I have checked it at the dealer and the allignment is fine.
It is really annoing, specially not on the straight pavement.
Do you know if this could be fixed, maybe I should ask a dealer to adjust it, if it is at all adjustable or not?
Mayne I am just comparing to my 2004 X5 4.4 where the steering wheel experience was completely different. My 07 X5 4.8 steering wheel is too light ( I don't have active steering) and reacts to any road surface, where my 04's steering was just perfect, but some people said that it was too tight.

Any advice?

It's fine won't affect steering at all. However, it can be adjusted at the dealer. It's not a big deal.

Most likely what you see is car's reaction to road's crown. On a perfectly flat road, the steering wheel should be straight. If the road slopes to the right (most streets do to allow water run-off), you keep your steering wheel a bit to the left, and vice versa. On most highways, you keep your wheel straight in the middle lane, a bit to left in the right lane, and a bit to the right in the left lane. Perfectly normal. Believe me, I am a "human alignment machine" :)

If your car's alignment is off, you'd feel pulling to a side during acceleration and/or breaking.

well, mine is pulling to right a bit and i wanted to go in for a software upgrade anyway, so it made for a good time for me to go in and have it checked. I don't have active steering and its sports package (20" but with 18" winters right now). I'll post when i get that "call back" tomorrow. ;)

OKay! I got my car back today. Steering wheel feels AWESOME. smooth yet still has enough resistance to feel in control Its just right. They updated my idrive and did alignment and all is well. My car behaves better than the day i got it from the dealer. but the Best part? bill came to $0.00. I LOVE MY BMW X5 4.8i!!!!!!!!!! :) :) :) ;)
