New instrument graphic for next generation X-drive
Autoexpress has a resume of X6 but note the new instument cluster detail showing traction to each individual wheel, I wonder if this will eventually find it's way into the E70?

that's cool. i hope we can get that updated via software in E70!!

It's rumored the 2009 X5 will have the new Dynamic X drive system from the X6.

So it'll be like the SH-AWD display in Acuras. To be honest, I don't really think you should be looking at that display if you're doing some meaningful cornering....

I've heard it will work like what Acura has on the current MDX.

Catchy gizmo/view for slow slogging in the woods,
(for all of you whom are going offroad in your new X6s, )... I'm with M above: in addition to gabbing on the cell, text messaging the CEO about the dinner res., glancing at your TV-on-the-move, fiddling with your lap top, watching/listening to GPS and tunes, now you get to watch how the traction spilt is at each wheel as you take the off ramp. WTF?! |
I had posted that in X6 forum. X5 will not get that till it gets the DXDrive with Dynamic Performance control(DPC). No software upgrade will add that. That is what shows in Acuras with SH-AWD. BMW has improved upon that system.

interesting that they put the oil temp back. lol
and what's up with that little icon of a car... look closely, it's in the upper center.... looks like the rear of a car... maybe for cruise control system? |
