Brian - Here is the correct T-Tap
I did some looking around after you left based upon what we spoke about.
The tap included with the V1 hardwire is the blue #952 from 3M, this is for 18-14 gauge wire. This would work fine for the constant power brown wire w/ the red stripe. For the smaller green wire with the white stripe (the switched source) we will need the maroon #951 for 18-22 gauge wires - see the attached link: http://www.discountcarstereo.com/detail.aspx?ID=531 I am going to try radio shack tomorrow - if I can find these locally I'll get one for you. Short of that I'll order a few. Cheers, KEF |

Here is the 3M selection chart that I am basing my opinion on.

KEF,
Thanks so much for your help today with both the painted reflectors :smokin:and the V1 hardwire :zoom:! Who am I kidding though, you didn't "help"; you did all the work! I did learn a lot though... Let me know if you are able to find the right tap. I would like to replace the one that came with the V1 otherwise it's likely to fail every time that cover gets opened. I think that I'll also try to hide the V1 direct connect wires and connections further back inside the headliner so that the service department wouldn't be able to see it (easily). . . . . Brian |

Brian, No problem at all, I was more than glad to help out - it went significantly faster than when I first did mine. I would however question your service dept in a little more detail, I think you know why. Yes, one way or another I'll get the correct connectors - once I do I'll get you one. Cheers, Keith |
