Another successful US Saddle Brown order......Finally ordered our E70....

I finally ordered an E70 to replace my wife's 2001 E53 X5. I was able to get the Saddle Brown interior ordered and would like to thank the members here that shared their experience on ordering SB. By the way, the BMW NA rep that my dealer talked with told him that she believed BMW NA was going to add Saddle Brown as one of their standard colors and add it in the standard "selectable" list in the dealer's ordering system very soon. When he asked it she was sure of that fact she said she wasn't 100% sure, but she was pretty convinced that they were going to do it.:dunno:

So here are the specs:

2008 X5 3.0si
Mineral Green Exterior
Saddle Brown Interior with Bamboo wood
Every option except for Active Ventilated Seats, Rear Entertainment, and HD Radio.

It's scheduled to complete production on Dec. 11.

Thanks.

I got the printout from my dealer. Since he knew that the Owner's Circle is going to be a few days behind he prited that out to reassure me that I did indeed get everything I wanted, including Saddle Brown.

The 4.8 with the same options would have cost $7000 more, and I am already pushing it with this one on how much I want to spend. If it was for me I would have probably gone with the 4.8, but it's for my wife and she already drives her current 3.0 way too fast to begin with:scared: ......I don't want her to have a car that is any faster:rofl: .

Some may argue that a 4.8 with less options (to make up the $7000 difference) would be better. For some it will be better, but I would rather have all the options and gadgets in a 3.0 than a 4.8 with a lot of that stuff missing.

No arguement here, I fully understand your reason  My 4.8 I am ordering is about $62k and change but I am not getting the Sport or Tech pack, instead I will be adding the Aero kit and HRE's ;)

As of now I'm planning on getting the Aero kit and Style 214 wheels, but I may change my mind as it gets closer.

I "should" receive it within 4 weeks under normal conditions, however, with Christmas around the corner it is sure to be delayed. When I got my 545 it arrived at port in mid December. Barring any problems the cars usually get to the dealer in a maximum of one week from the day they arrive at the VDC (since we are local to the VDC), but my 545 took an extra week and a half and I received it in early January. So I'm expecting delays at the VDC with the E70 as well because of Christmas holiday schedules, etc. I will post pics when it's in.
